What a weekend
We took the kids to the "big pool" for the first time. Specifically, the pool in the Meadowmont subdivision in Chapel Hill. They (and we) had a blast. The pool has a big slide; Liora loved it! She also started dunking her head in the water on purpose for the first time, and spent hours in the 2 1/2 foot section going from one side of the section rope to the other by ducking her head and going underneath. She got water in her nose, and breathed some in, several times, and it didn't phase her a bit. Toward the end, she started opening her eyes underwater too. We told her she was acting like a fish, so the rest of the day she called me Marlin and herself Nemo. Ilana had a good time too; she started jumping off the side of the pool to Mom.
We also got a bit of work done here and there; I touched up some paint in the house; power washed the playset, and got halfway through re-staining it. It's only four years old, and already was practically bleached white. Hopefully this stain will last longer because it isn't in the sun; it's in full shade in the woods.
