What a trip
I got back from California visiting my brother-in-law and his family today. This is the second time I travelled across the country with two small children, and it was better in several key ways. First, I used a bunch of frequent flier miles to upgrade to first class for the trip. Very good choice. Second, we checked the car seats rather than bringing them on the plane and using them. Another great choice; no schlepping car seats between gates. I've never understood what types of air accidents could occur in which a car seat would be helpful.
The only real drag was my youngest throwing up on me 20 minutes into the first flight. I managed to catch most of it in her blanket. We cleaned her up pretty well, but it wasn't until we changed planes that I could get a new shirt. I actually had to pay for a city of Dallas sweatshirt; it was the only non-Cowboys gear I could find. Yuck.
