Too Bad you can't go back...

I visited Carnegie Mellon this week for a recruiting fair. It was the first time I'd been back in more than a decade, which is really hard to fathom, but true. Tal flew up with me, and visited some of her colleagues while I spent time at the recruiting fair. We spent the following day exploring the campus and marvelling at the changes. We also drove around the neighborhoods nearby to check out houses, exploring the fantasy of moving back to Pittsburgh and getting involved with Carnegie again.

It was exciting to think about spending time at the new & improved CMU, but reality started to set in after a while. Pittsburgh is the only sizeably city I've spent time in that I would consider living in, but it is still too hard to imagine life in that urban of a setting. Also, as much as I wish I could redo parts of my undergraduate career and/or study aspects of CS that are more relevant to my current career, parenting is still a higher priority.

Maybe I'll go back for my masters when my youngest starts her undergrad... Guess I need to hope that NetApp stock keeps rising!
