Trying out Planet Roller's feed aggregation
The user manual is a bit opaque about what an aggregator is and how it can be used; I'm hoping to end up with one spot to look at instead of lots of sites, which will prevent me from hopping all over the place to look for updated blog content.
After completing the initial setup, at first I didn't think it wass working. The planetrss link showed no entries, and I wasn't sure why. I had defined 3 external blogs and kicked of the background tasks manually. I thought perhaps it was only going to pick up new content since the last run, so I waited a couple of hours to see what it would do.
I just checked back in now (5-6 hours later), and there are lots of entries; both those from my blog site and from the external sites I added. This is great! Now I can put all of the various blogs I watch in one spot, and get a consolidate feed from them all in one place! No more traipsing around to different blog sites to see what is new. I'm sure this is old hat to lots of people, but it is new to me!
