Sleep studies suck

I had a sleep study last night, and it was way more annoying than I expected. It took 45 minutes to hook up and calibrate the various wires, tubes, and monitoring stuff for data collection. I tried being fitted with two different positive pressure masks in case the diagnosis included apnea; both were way more bulky than I expected and seemed extremely likely to make sleeping highly uncomfortable.

During the night, the monitoring folks woke me up twice, and then I woke up on my own at 3:00 a.m. They insisted I try to fall back asleep, so I ended up lying awake in bed from 3-5 a.m. before I could go through the 20 minute unwiring process and go home and shower. I did take a couple of semi-amusing pictures of me all wired up (using the iPhone of course) so that I can use them for scaring people later.
